Spanish giants Real Madrid and the Rivers state government are collaborating to build a football academy in the state.
Addressing reporters, River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who is a supporter of the 12-time UEFA Champions League winners, said that the collaboration will benefit the youths in the state.
He said,
“We have young men who want to be coaches, who will be trained in Spain.
“We have our young boys and girls who want to go and play football in Spain.
“This partnership is with the best club in the world and it’s in the interest of all.”
He added that the CAF President will be in Port Harcourt on May 28 to perform the foundation-laying ceremony.
