Real Madrid have made their first signing of the window announcing the signing of 19-year-old Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
The young stopper is regarded as one of Europe’s top shot-stoppers and was reportedly being tracked by Juventus, Liverpool and others.
The Goalie signs from Zorya Luhansk in the Ukrainian Premier League, where he made 29 league appearances in the 2017-18 season, signing a six-year deal with the Spanish side for a reported €14 million (£12.3m/$16.3m) fee.
Speaking on how much of a dream it was to finalise the move, Lunin said; “Real is my favourite team,
“Of course, I would like to be there some day, to play for that club at that level.”
“We thank Andriy Lunin for his efforts for Zorya,” the Ukrainian club said in a statement.
It will be interesting to see how this affects Real’s proposed move for Brazilian keeper Alisson whom they were said to be tracking and also whether this means the end for Keylor Navas or if Lunin will play understudy to Navas before eventually replacing him in goal for the long term.
