Ahmed Musa’s performance in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Iceland on Friday has continued to send ripples across the footballing world.
Musa scored both goals in a match that Nigeria needed to win or be knocked out of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
While Nigerians have continued to laud his stellar performance, Ivorian and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has joined them in heaping praises on the 25-year-old Leicester striker.
Drogba was totally impressed with Musa’s first goal in which he controlled a cross from Victor Moses before firing home a spectacular half volley from close range past Iceland goalkeeper, Hannes Halldórsson.
Speaking on a BBC football programme, the 40-year-old said, “That’s a great finish, the first touch is unbelievable, that is the perfect touch to finish a goal, a good goal, a good touch most of the time is a goal.The difficulty in controlling the ball makes it a beautiful goal.”
