Reverend Father Vincent Idanwojo, the parish priest at Our Mercy Queen of Martha Catholic Church, Sabo Lugbe, Abuja sent a message to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Father Vincent told journalists on Sunday, July 3 at Abuja that the present economic crunch in the country has made it important for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to review the monthly salaries/minimum wage of workers.
The Reverend Father also praised the president for his commitment at waging war against Boko Haram insurgency and corruption.
Idawonjo appealed to the people of Nigeria regardless of their religious beliefs to continue to pray for President Buhari and all the people in position of authority in order for them to provide exemplary leadership to the citizens.
He said: “We need to pray for them as enjoined in the Bible.
“We can equally criticise them constructively for the good of the land. The president should try and ameliorate the sufferings of the masses to further enhance his credibility and goodwill among Nigerians.
M“The president can tackle the current economic challenges headlong and make life easy for the common man by easing the pain on transportation, reduction of sky rocketing market prices, and a review of minimum wage.’’
The Reverend Father also spoke on the ongoing crisis between the leadership of the National Assembly and presidency. He urged all parties to allow the rule of law prevail.
