Gov. Ayodele Fayose

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has come into the limelight again with an interesting take on he would deal with the Fulani Herdsmen.

The Herdsmen are public enemy number 1 at the moment with the attacks in Agatu and Enugu still fresh in the minds of people.on Tuesday, warned marauding

The governor on Tuesday issued a stern warning telling the Herdsmen not to try coming into his state as he would take drastic measures against them that would lead to the loss of their livelihood.

He declared that if they did come, he would have the source of water for the cattle poisoned. He said he had already instructed his people in the case of an attack to poison the water source with a particular brand of chemical used against fungal attacks.

Governor Fayose stated this on Tuesday, while speaking on the topic: “Journalism and Politics; two sides of a coin,” at the World Press Freedom Day organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, held at the Dapo Aderogba hall, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Fayose announced that it was time for Nigerians to start defending Nigerians and show the insurgents what they’re made of. He said it was time for the Fulani to stop killing.

“It seems Boko Haram has changed identity to herdsmen now. You as journalists must speak out, the killings are under reported. Is it about the mass burial in Kaduna State, the Agatu saga or the recent killing which happened on Monday? Ask questions,” he said.
