Nigerian-American rapper, Jidenna’s assertion that hoteps were one of his top five enemies have attracted condemnation.
Hotep is a relatively new movement in the U.S. that uses Egyptian history as a parcel to wrap up messages of Black pride, Sapiens wrote.
People characterised as Hoteps tend to wear traditional African styles, create content about the history of Black people from before the transatlantic slave trade, and spread ideology about the place of Black men and women within Black communities.
Hoteps are also anti-gay, arguing that LGBTQ ideals are un-African.
In a tweet late Sunday night, he wrote:
He later explained that he meant the remark as a joke.
“There’s truth in this, but it was said in jest. I’m amused that some would defend & identify as hoteps.
“The title is no longer a badge of honor & it doesn’t just mean peace, woke & pro-black; it includes misogyny, homophobia, fake wisdom, and woke fuckboyism. We can do better,” Jidenna wrote.
However, the 35-year-old has been the subject of attack from hoteps.

Be advised:
Anyone that propagates the idea that Hotep is in ANY WAY a negative term, is an enemy of the advancement of BLK society.
Screenshot this, I predict it will matter later.

The fact that you are saying this, proves how much your train of thoughts is finally beginning to become our worst enemy.
