Sen. Shehu Sani (APC – Kaduna Central) has berated the seven Northern APC governors who visited President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday to urge him to seek re-election in 2019.
The senator made this known in an early Saturday morning tweet on his verified personal Twitter handle.
Led by Kano State Governor, the team included Governors Nasir El-rufai (Kaduna), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Jubrilla Bindow (Adamawa), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) and Abubakar Bello (Niger).
Speaking through el-Rufai, the governors told journalists after emerging from a two-hour closed-door meeting with Buhari that they visited to urge the president to seek re-election in 2019.
But in his reaction, Sani said the governors should stop playing politics at a time many lives are being lost to herdsmen attacks across the country.
He said, “Seven Governors in the Villa asking President Buhari to run at this material time when all hands should be on deck to advice or support him to end the mindless bloodletting & carnage in the country is most unfortunate. Human reasoning and human conscience where art thou?”
