The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has said he did not authorise a viral post shared on his social media pages in the wake of the outcome of the Osun state governorship election.
The post, which was shared on the ex-Osun governor’s Facebook and Twitter pages, has now been deleted, but not before it went viral on the social media platforms.

Many social media users that reacted to the cryptic post said it was a dig aimed at presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

However, the minister has now disowned the post.
A statement signed by the minister’s Media Adviser, Sola Fasure read, “It has come to the attention of the media office of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, that an unauthorized message was posted on his Verified Twitter & Facebook Pages at about 8:00am on Sunday 17th July, 2022.
“The unauthorized messages have now been deleted. Members of the public, especially the media, are advised to ignore!”
Aregbesola had a major fallout with Tinubu in February 2022, in the build-up to the APC gubernatorial primaries.
While Tinubu backed incumbent Gboyega Oyetola, Aregbesola pitched his tent with Moshood Adeoti, who lost.
The Herald can report that Aregbesola travelled out of the state on the eve of Saturday’s gubernatorial election, which Oyetola lost Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
