Rape Allegation: Senior Exxon Mobil Engineer Accused Of Raping 14-year-old Girl

3 Min Read

A women rights group, Women Association of The Good People, has accused a top engineer at Exxon Mobil of raping the 14-year-old niece of his tenant.

The man’s name and photos were released in a press statement but as the police are yet to investigate the story, he will be regarded as the engineer.

The engineer owns a property on the Island part of the Lagos metropolis.

He reportedly called his tenants and told them he would be coming to collect the rent owed him on January 4th, 2016, but they told him they would be out.

However, they told him their niece, 14, would be home with their 3-year-old daughter.

When he got to the house, the young girl confirmed what he had already been told but he insisted on entering the apartment to confirm for himself.

According to the young girl, after she opened the door to admit him, the engineer checked the room, bathroom and wardrobe to ensure that no one else was inside before he started asking her for personal details including her name and age.

It was then he pounced on and defiled her in the presence of the 3-year-old child. He even gave her N1,000 afterwards to console her and buy her silence.

When the tenant’s wife got home, she found the victim crying and could not get why she was shedding tears.

According to the statement, it was the three-year-old that revealed how the engineer pushed the victim on the bed and defiled her.

“Mummy, landlord came; he push Aunty C on the bed and he do like this like this on top of her,” the 3-year-old told her stunned mum.

The woman then immediately called her husband to report the incident and he rushed home.

The matter has since been reported at the Lamgbasa police station. But the suspect as at January 8th had not been apprehended by the police, and even spurned an invitation by police.

Also, the engineer has reportedly been trying to contact his tenants to arrange a meeting for settlement.
