English Premier League side Arsenal have renewed Aaron Ramsey’s contract upon entering the final 12 months of his deal with the club.
Ramsey, who scored 11 goals in 32 appearances for the club last season, also spoke about new manager Unai Emery.
The Welsh player praised the appointment of the former Paris Saint-Germain manager to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
He said, “I haven’t spoken to him [Emery] at all yet, but I think it’s an exciting time for the club and I can’t wait to get back there now.”
New Wales manager, Ryan Giggs, who spoke after the nation’s friendly with Mexico at Pasadena, also expressed hope of an improvement in Ramsey’s performance under Emery.
“He’s only played under Arsene at Arsenal and I look at it positively that a new manager could come in and improve him, improve already a quality player.”
