Ramadan: Mohamed Salah’s Injury Was Because God Punished Him- Islamic Cleric

2 Min Read

It was heartbreak for Mohamed Salah on two fronts; his team lost the Champions League final and his World Cup attendance was thrown in doubt due to injury,

And while it seems he has been cleared to take some part in his country’s world cup campaign, an Islamic cleric has claimed that his injury was brought about because he decided not to fast on the day.

Salah is a practising Muslim and also partook in the annual Ramadan fast, due to the vagarities of the Champions League, he decided to eat on the day so as to keep up his energy. The Islamic preacher from Kuwait, Mubarak al-Bathali, was furious with the Egyptian star stating that he got his just rewards.

While Muslims are allowed to break their fast for travel purposes, al-Bathali is of the belief that Salah didn’t break his fast because of the journey from England to Ukraine but rather for the Champions League final, a move which he says constitutes a disobedient act.

al-Bathali said on Twitter;

God punished him,”

“Unfortunately, [he will] bear the burden.

“Do not think the Muslim believes that life is managed by reason and effort, but life is the hand of God comes to whom he will, whether hard or not diligent.

“Perhaps the injury is good for you.

“Do not grieve, the door of repentance is open”.
