On Friday morning, an earthquake of about 7-5 magnitude occurred in the eastern part of Ecuador, destroying properties and injuring some residents.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the disaster is said struck with the epicenter around 5:17 am around the central border of Peru and Ecuador.
Twenty-five minutes later, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Western Ecuador, beside the Guayaquil city. However, no record of deaths of fatal injuries has been reported, and Ecuador President has explained that there have been any major damage reports from the area in which the earthquake struck.
Reports from National Risk and Emergency Management Service in Ecuador later revealed that a total of six residents were injured, six other houses and two health centers were also affected. The local airport and tunnel which had been initially closed, have now been opened so as to mobilize residents in case there are further strikes. The disaster caused power outage but that has also been fixed, while Emergency centers have been stationed in the affected areas.
