The premiere of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Eniola Ajao’s new movie, “Ajakaju,” has sparked debate after popular crossdresser Bobrisky was awarded “Best Dressed Female.”
The announcement of Bobrisky’s win however at the Lagos premiere caused controversy online.
In a recent interview with Arise TV, Ajao explained the decision behind the award, claiming it was a publicity stunt. “We just want to have fun,” she said. “We want people to talk about the movie.“
Ajao stated her team deliberately chose Bobrisky, known for his controversial persona, to generate buzz. “People started talking about it,” she admitted. “But some people are not happy.“
The decision has drawn criticism, with some viewers targeting actor Femi Adebayo, who presented the award. Ajao clarified that Adebayo was not involved in the selection process and simply acted as a presenter.
