The Chairman of President Buhari’s Campaign organization, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has revealed some intriguing details about the prerequisites to become a Nigerian President.
The Lawyer was invited to a Channels TV on Sunday where he was asked about the controversy surrounding Buhari’s WAEC certificate.
Before now, the Peoples Democratic Party, as well as other Nigerians have criticized the current president’s education status with questions over if he was truly eligible to be a President in the country.
Some other people have also queried his refusal to submit his WAEC results to INEC in the past.
But Keyamo has now claimed that having a WAEC certificate is not the principal prerequisite to becoming a president in the country
He said that instead, anyone who has been in the public service for a period of time and has a primary 6 School Leaving Certificate can become the president, according to the 1999 constitutions.
