Nigerians should expect a presidential debate between President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his closest challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku, a former Vice President, threw the challenge to Buhari on Thursday at the inauguration of PDP’s presidential campaign council in Abuja.
The newly-turbaned Waziri of Adamawa also reiterated his commitment to issue-based campaign and not “attack on individuals”.
According to Atiku, who recently turned 72, “I have been asked to remind the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari that I, Atiku Abubakar, am ready for a debate.”
