The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Office, has called for partnership with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Nigeria’s external broadcast service, toward effective dissemination of its information to the global audience.
The Coordinator of the Programme and Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Matters, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd) made the appeal when he visited the Director-General of VON, Mr Osita Okechukwu, in Abuja.
While soliciting for strategic communication partnership, Boroh said his office has worked very hard at ensuring that peace and stability prevail in Niger Delta region.
“We need our efforts or whatever we are doing to be reported and projected to the world, such will also improve our global image,” he said.
In his response, Okechukwu said that Nigerians are impressed with all the efforts of the PAP at building peace in the region.
“Personally, I am impressed with what you and the Vice President are doing on building modular refineries in the region.
“To help educate the Niger Delta youths to forget about the bazaar era,” he said.
According to him, the region needs this project and other infrastructure like coastal railway, East-West Road, and other developmental projects.
The DG also gave assurance that VON would fully partner with the office to publicise its activities to the international community.
