Vice-President Namadi Sambo, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan has transformed the country by fulfilling the promises he made to Nigerians in 2011.
The Vice President made this statement while inaugurating a five 68-passenger coach air-conditioned trains in Makurdi.
He said “President Jonathan has ensured the fulfilment of the promises he made to Nigerians by transforming the country, especially the transport sector as a critical infrastructure.
“Today’s event is a commitment of our unflinching services. This transformation is in three phases: System transition, system modernisation and system stabilisation”.
He added that “We have a 25 years strategic plan for the rail system which has suffered neglect for a long time.
“We will not rest on our oars in total rehabilitation of the rail sector. We will resuscitate it as part of our goal of service delivery to Nigerians.”
The Vice President also promised that President Jonathan administration will give priority to policies that will ensure the development of the country.
