After the former Emir of Kano, al-haiji Ado Bayero died at the age of 83 last year, everyone wondered who will become the next Emir, then Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, former governor of Central Bank became Emir of Kano.
Sanusi who was crowned on the 8th of June, 2014 had been suspended as Governor of Central Bank by President Goodluck Jonathan five months earlier after exposing a $20 billion fraud committed by the president’s associates in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
A lot of controversies followed his appointment as Emir, as many Nigerians speculated that one day, President Goodluck Jonathan will pay homage to him and that has happened.
When the President’s campaign train got to Kano today, President Jonathan had no choice but to visit the Emir.
