President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the families of victims of the gas explosion in Nnewi, Anambra State which has claimed not less than 100 lives and left scores injured.
This was communicated in a Friday statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, who sad the president was greatly saddened by the unfortunate incident.
The president expressed shock that such large-scale loss of human life could occur in a single industrial accident just when the unfortunate victims and their families would be preparing for the Christmas festivities.
He said: “My heart and prayers go out to these grieving families at this difficult and painful moment.”
