President Muhammadu Buhari has announced to Benue State leaders that came to meet him on the recent killings in the state, that he will not protect criminals.
The information was released by Governor Samuel Ortom at a meeting with State House correspondents that lasted an hour. Again the president has ordered Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector-General of Police to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of the recent killings.
Ortom also added “The state can not spare 10,000 hectares the Federal Government requested to establish cattle colonies in the state.
Also we have appealed to Buhari to cause the arrest of Miyetti Allah’s leader who is still issuing threats of attacks.
The president assured us there is no room for impunity and he would ensure there is peace iBenueue.”
Ortom once again denied the reports that he was arming militias.
