The forthcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Buhari on Thursday, March 12, approved the NEC meeting in which key issues related to the recent suspension of the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, will be discussed,

Reports claim that the president will also attend the meeting that will be held on Tuesday, March 17. According to the reports, “It has his authorisation. So, the question of whether he will attend is pathological.”

Earlier, The Herald reported that the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has barred the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, Babatunde Ogala; the National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu; and Waziri Bulama from embarking on any process that may disrupt the meeting of the APC National Executive Committee, NEC, being planned by the party’s National Working Committee and scheduled for March 17.

Justice S.U. Bature, in his ruling on Wednesday, gave a restraining order on following an ex parte application by one Mustapha Salihu.

The court also made an order “compelling the 4th defendant (APC) to give effect to the resolution of the National Working Committee convening the National Executive Committee meeting of the 4th defendant (APC) scheduled for 17th March 2020 or any subsequent date pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice already filed.”

His lordship also granted leave to the applicant to serve originating summons on Ogala, Issa-Onilu, Bulama and the APC.

According to him,“by substituted means, to wit: by serving same on any adult at the office of the Deputy National Secretary of the 4th defendant at the APC National Secretariat and deem same as proper service.”
