In just under a month, the new Premier League season will be kicking off and fans would be able to start planning for when they can see their club kick the round leather.
The 2020/21 Premier League season will get underway later than usual and the excitement is starting to build with the fixtures set to be released this week for all 380 matches over the course of the campaign.
Of course, the late start date is because the 2019/20 season finished more than two months later than planned as a result of the coronavirus pandemic which has also prevented supporters from entering stadiums.
Originally scheduled for 8 August, the Premier League is now set to start on September 21. But who will have the honour of kicking off the new campaign?
Popular sports website, football.london understands that the fixtures will be released at 9am on Friday, August 21 at the latest, with hopes that they could be revealed before that.
This will include all the fixtures on the opening day of the season, all the big derbies, the Boxing Day fixtures, the matches for the final day, and all the others in between.
The fixture schedule is as important as the matches themselves as it allows fans to identify what sort of start they can expect, where the tough tests will come and where they will feel their side can put together a strong run of form.
There already might have been an indication of who each team will be playing first.
Over the weekend, the hugely popular fantasy football game on Fantasy Premier League was launched for the new season and they always tell you who each player will be playing next when you pick your squad.
