The wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari has appealed to women, especially pregnant and nursing mothers, to go for regular medical examination to reduce or eradicate the prevalence of cases of maternal mortality.
Represented by the wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi, Mrs Buhari gave this charge at an advocacy and community sensitization visit to Oji River General Hospital in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.
She lamented the high rate of maternal mortality in the country, stating that measures to curb the anomaly must be put in place.
Mrs Buhari urged pregnant women to attend regular antenatal clinic, to know their health condition and that of the baby and facilitate safe delivery.
