Nationwide League One (NLO) clubside Crime Busters Football Club of Enugu on Friday whipped Artisan FC of Onitsha 7–0 in a pre-season friendly match.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match was played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Ifeanyi Aninwene opened scores in the 15th minute, before adding another one in the 54th minute of play, with Alex Oguedo’s goal sandwiching them in the 21st minute.
Other goals came from Chidera Eze in the 63rd and 71st minutes of play, as well as Obinna Eze and Chidi Madu.
Team Manager of Crime Busters, Ebere Amaraizu, later told NAN that the match was part of the club’s pre-season programme to test their players’ preparedness for the 2016/2017 NLO season.
He said the match has afforded the team’s handlers to closely observe the players in all the departments of the game and make amendments where necessary.
The team manager however disclosed that the team would also be exposed to other Grade A friendly matches.
“These friendly matches will expose the team to challenges which will help to further put them in shape for the upcoming 2016/2017 NLO season,” he said. (NAN)
