Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has called on Nigerians to pray for Nigeria claiming that things are getting extremely bad in the country.
The Governor made the call during a meeting of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, held at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.
He said, “We really need to pray for Nigeria because things are getting extremely bad and nobody should deceive us about God. God is not a bad God, God is a good God and God does not allow bad things to happen to His people.
“So, if bad things are happening to us, then something is wrong with us, and not with God.
“For now, it appears that our prayers have not been answered. If our prayers have been answered, Boko Haram, instead of reducing is increasing every day. There is no day I have not heard about a successful attack.
“Ten months ago, we had kidnapping under our control; we had armed robbery under our control. Now, we don’t have that. Last Sunday, a friend of mine was going to a burial with an NDDC staff. On that road from Obiri Ikwerre to the Airport, they shot him dead and took the NDDC man. Three or four weeks ago, they kidnapped the (former) Chairman of Ahoada-West and kept him for three weeks in Sagbama.”
