As Valentine day draws closer, the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA, says it is committed to promoting a healthy and responsible celebration of love, especially in the context of ongoing global health challenges.
The Director General of NACA, Dr. Gambo Aliyu made this statement, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing safety and well-being while expressing affection.
With an aim to encourage individuals to adopt a comprehensive approach to love, NACA stressed the significance of open communication, mutual respect, and responsible choices.
Dr. Aliyu called on the public to incorporate protection into intimate moments, emphasizing the importance of regular HIV testing and discussions about sexual health with partners.
“Love is a powerful force, and by embracing responsible practices, we can ensure that it enriches our lives without compromising our health. NACA is dedicated to providing resources, information, and support to empower individuals in making informed choices,” he said.
According to him, those measures not only enhance personal health but also contribute to the broader goal of building safer and healthier communities.
“In line with our mission, NACA will conduct comprehensive awareness campaigns this Valentine’s Day to educate the public about the importance of both abstinence and safe sex practices.
“The agency aims to create an environment where love is celebrated responsibly, fostering a community that values support and health consciousness,” he added.
