A popular Facebook page called Abiyamo has drawn wide condemnation from social media users after she posted a picture of the First Family complete with the President’s children and called the First Lady “barren”.
A screenshot of the Post is reproduced here:
Abiyamo’s page is a big hit with All Progressives Congress supporters as she routinely posts topics that are anti-GEJ. The lady behind the posts, has however said she is neither pro-APC nor pro-PDP.
After she posted the “barren” topic, many neutral Nigerians and even some pro-APC elements castigated her for the remark saying it was distasteful and downright despicable.
Some comments from her Post are reproduced below:
Sade Owolabi said What was the significance in pointing out that Mrs Jonathan Goodluck is barren? She helped raise 4 beutiful children, she supported them whether from cradle till now and she’s still being called barren? Aba Abiyamo….ti a ba n sunkun a ma rina o, this one no bi laughing, jesting or even a matter to be brought to light on face book ( even if one is crying, one can still see). I’m sure we all have skeletons in our closets that we dare not allow the noonday sun even a glimpse of talkless of the night sun called the moon shinning it’s light on. Let us respect Dame Goodluck. From what we can see of the wedding pictures she is a supportive woman that has not killed her husband children as others have done in the past out of anger or jelousyand has stood by his side on his day of joy. This one too much Abiyamo, i no sabi approve of this your message at all
Ezemba Obianuju said you mock her that she is barren, but God has exalted above all fertile women in Nigeria including you! yes the God of Sarah has made her a mother to millions & ain’t nothing you can do about it. swallow your bitter pill of jealousy, envy & hate. you just reduced yourself to nothing
Wasiu Yisa said Abiyamo, I’ve been enjoying your post but, this one is bad of you. Apologise for this statement and also seek for God’ favour. Play politics with God wisdom. Barreness is not a diseases, God understand himself. I pray for you not to loose your children in afternoon of your year.
In response to Wasiu’s comment, Abiyamọ said I insist I do not owe anyone any apology over this post. As for the child dying, infant mortality in Nigeria is 2nd highest on earth already so that’s no news.
Ruthsel Danny said very very annoying!!! you can bring in somebody’s private life out here! what sort of media do you guys have in this country!? shit,so ashamed and disappointed from a lot medias in this Nigeria!!! So unprofessional!!
Adebayo Adetoro Omooba said Haba Abiyamo!!! I thought u are more polite & well polished but this submission is simply barbaric and absolutely unethical…Kindly drop your shoulder and apologize…Ewo ni ti yin ninu oro ebi elebi anyway? Efi ete (leprosy) sile, enpa lapa-lapa(ringworm). Abegiiiii, make I waka pass.
Micah Akinrodoye said @ Abiyamo Nobody is above mistake, I have been following your write up which most of are them are very interesting, but I think you got it wrong this time. You should have used another subtle word. My thought
Vijay Ofem Ewut said I think you’re taking this political blackmail on GEJ and wife too personal. You better watch it before regrets will set in. Remember when the wood insect gathers sticks on it head it carries them!!!
Moyinoluwa Olubodun said Abiyamo ,u have gone too far this time . Kila gbe kila ju ? Se bcos of dis politics ? U are too cruel
Grace Olufunke Oyewo said This is uncalled for as a proper Yoruba woman. I doubt of u are truly one. Why on earth will something like this be imagined or written Pls for God’s sake as ABIYAMO delete it u truely know what Abiyamo means
These are just a cross section of Nigerians protesting the disparaging remarks against the First Family. More than several individuals have asked the owner of the page to take down the post but she has refused to do so.
