An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Shogunle attempted to break the age-long myth that only women should go to the market to get the family’s supplies by doing the rounds himself.
Shogunle, who is the Head of the Police Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), shared a photo of him holding the supplies he got for the family after visited the market.

The photo, which has been shared hundreds of times since it was posted on Sunday, attempted to dispel the myths surrounding gender roles, with Shogunle urging men to help out their spouses when necessary.

He captioned the photo, “Going to the market shouldn’t be a duty reserved only for our wives, mothers, sisters and daughters.
Men and boys should also do market runs for the family.”
