Nasarawa State‘s former Commissioner of Health, Dr. Bawa Ahmed Abimiku breathed his last in the early hours of Tuesday, December 19, The Herald reports.
The news of his demise was confirmed by a family source, citing a prolonged illness as the cause of death.
Dr. Abimiku, also known by his traditional title of Durbin Eggon, succumbed to his ailment at the Federal Medical Centre in Keffi.
Throughout his career, Dr Abimiku made significant contributions to the health sector, serving as both Commissioner and Member of the State Executive Council (SEC) during the tenure of the late Alhaji (Dr) Aliyu Akwe Doma.
His dedicated service and commitment to healthcare have left a lasting impact on the state.
The bereaved family has announced that the burial rites for Dr. Abimiku will adhere to Islamic traditions and will take place at the Abuja Central Mosque, FCT, at 2:00 pm.
