Ebony Reigns the popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste, was killed in a road accident on Thursday evening on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.
The dancehall artist was moving with two military officers in Jeep with registration AS 497—16 from Sunyani heading towards Kumasi when it hit a VIP bus dead on heading towards Sunyani from Kumasi.
The two military personnel that were here escorts also died later at the Bechem Government Hospital after they were rushed there, DSP John Adusei, Mankraso District Commander, confirmed.
The driver of the bus survived he is currently unconscious at the same hospital receiving treatment from doctors.
Arimaba Yusif, a journalist with a local radio station, After-2 FM, said on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM Friday has said that the road where the accident happened was in very poor shape. The journalist stated that the driver of the Jeep had probably swerved to avoid a heap of sand there on the road that was being used for road construction but instead ran into the bus.
Ebony (Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng) is known for her hit songs “Poison” and “Kupe”.
Her 21’st birthday would have been on February 16.
Adusei said the corpses have been moved to the Mankraso Hospital Morgue in the Ashanti Region.
