The presidency reacts to a viral video in which Maiduguri residents were seen booing President Muhammadu Buhari as he arrived Borno state for a sympathy visit over recent Boko Haram attacks.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said miscreants who booed President Buhari during his condolence visit to the state were paid by some politicians.
Shehu said though some Borno residents came out to thank President Buhari and welcome him, others were shouting ‘we don’t want.’
He said: “I was part of the delegation that entered Maiduguri right from the airport to the palace of the Shehu of Borno.
“The people came out to say thank you and welcome us. But there was a group which came out shouting ‘we don’t want’. Some politicians gathered some miscreants and paid them money to boo Buhari.”
