Recall that the EFCC declared Bello wanted on Thursday.
This was after the ex-Kogi governor failed to present himself at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes ( for money laundering to the tune of N80.2 billion on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the EFCC laid siege to Bello’s Abuja residence in an attempt to arrest him as directed by the court.
However, the incumbent Kogi governor, Usman Ododo stormed the scene with his security detail and some youths and whisked his predecessor away.
The EFCC has reportedly asked all security agencies to place Bello on their watch list to prevent him from leaving the country “through any land, air or sea borders.”
