Deputy Inspector-General of Police Shuaibu Gambo on Monday, solicited the support of the mass media in crime prevention in the country.

He said that the active participation of the media in educating Nigerians to be security conscious would greatly assist in the provision of effective policing.
“Nigerians must be up and doing in supporting the police with intelligence reports that will help in apprehending the bad elements in the society,” he said.
Gambo also called on traditional rulers and religious leaders to compliment the efforts of the police by mobilising their followers to volunteer truthful and relevant information to the police about miscreants in their domains.
“The active participation of royal fathers will enable their subjects come forward with the required information about the bad elements in the society.”
