Senator Hamman Misau, has slammed the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, alleging that he had an affair with two serving police women and got one of them pregnant.
Misau, who represents Baruch central senatorial district in the senate, had earlier accused IGP Idris of massive fraud running into billions of naira being perpetuated under his supervision.
The allegation, which was not addressed, was however reversed to counter accusations by the IGP, stating that the Senator was not issued a retirement letter by the Police Force.
The Nigerian police service however confirmed the Senator’s retirement letter from the force.
Hamman further stated that the manner in which the promotion of police officers were being handled by IG Idris Ibrahim was corrupt, adding that officers paid as high as N500,000 to get promoted.
He also asked the Senate to investigate occurrences where powerful individuals in the country would have up to 30 police officers guarding them, whereas commoners do not have police around them.
