Tragedy struck in the Akwanga area of Nasarawa State on Sunday when a Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Francis Onugha, died following an alleged sex romp with an unidentified woman.

Onugha was said to have been found naked and dead in his bedroom in a police barracks in the area.

His door was reportedly left open when his body was found.

The Nation quoted an unnamed source as saying that an unknown lady slept with the late DCO but sneaked out when she discovered he had given up the ghost.

The lady reportedly deleted all communications with her late lover from his phone before escaping from the room.

“He used to wake up very early and go round duty posts to supervise police officers on duty, but that early Sunday, he couldn’t come out; we suspected something must be wrong, so when we rushed in we found him dead,” the source was quoted as saying.

Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nansel Ramhan confirmed Onugha’s demise, but denied it was due to a sex romp.

The Herald can report that the incident occurred on the same day that a police sergeant inflicted machete cuts on an inspector, Francis Adekunle which led to the latter’s death in Lagos.
