The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has confirmed the arrest of some policemen attached to popular Kano-based musician, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, for shooting indiscriminately in the air for crowd amusement.
Adejobi confirmed the arrest in a tweet on Saturday.
A video that has gone viral on Twitter shows the policemen shooting into the air as a crowd of Rarara’s adulating fans converged on his vehicle.
Many Twitter users who commented on the video called on police authorities to subject the errant cops to disciplinary action.
Quoting the video, Adejobi said, “These policemen have been identified and arrested. They are presently in detention in Kano, where they serve.
“We have commenced necessary disciplinary actions on them. They will interview the IGP in Àbuja on Tuesday. Definitely, they won’t go unpunished.”
