Two unnamed policemen and a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been arrested by the Jigawa Police Command for allegedly abducting a fake money producer.
An unnamed civilian was equally arrested in connection with the abduction of the victim identified as Malam Ahmad Muhammad aka “Akrami’’ in Hadejia LGA of the state.
The PRO of the Jigawa Police Command, DSP Abdu Jinjiri confirmed this to newsmen on Thursday.
He said: “On November 26, we received a report from Hadejia division that two policemen, one personnel of NSCDC and one civilian allegedly conspired and abducted one Malam Ahmad Muhammad from his residence in Mahucin Sarki quarters, Hadejia town.
“They kept the captive for one day insisting that he must produce money for them.
“This is very unprofessional, as they were supposed to take him to station for interrogation but they decided to keep him with them.’’
The police spokesman said investigations were still ongoing to determine the culpability of the suspects, adding that they will be charged to court if found culpable.
