The Ogun State Police Command has arrested some men of the command who stormed a school in search of a 10-year-old suspect and brutalised the former headmistress of the school in the process.
Six policemen were said to have stormed Top – Teez Nursery and Primary School, Ifo, in search of David Emeka, 10, in whose compound a missing stabiliser belonging to the Ojodu Abiodun Divisional Police Officer was found.
The stabiliser was said to have been stolen by hoodlums.
The school’s headmistress, Mrs Ayodeji Orojo was said to have queried the policemen on why they stormed the school and disrupted academic activities.
She proceeded to begin recording the policemen’s actions on her phone when she did not get a satisfactory answer from them.
According to her, the policemen then snatched her phone and destroyed it along with the memory card and SIM before descending on her.
The policemen therafter picked up David, who they visited the school to arrest.
Hiwever, it was reported that the 10-year-old suspect was released after his widowed mother, Elizabeth Emeka, paid N19,000 as bail.
The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Ilyasu on Tuesday disclosed that all six policemen have been arrested for the brutality visited on the headmistress, The Punch reported.
He said they would be sanctioned accordingly after conclusion of investigations, adding that the state would not condone unscrupulous actions of any police officer.
