The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 47-year-old man, Uchenna Egbuchulem for sexually abusing and impregnating his 17-year-old daughter, Adaku.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed Egbuchulem’s arrest on Wednesday.
He said the man, who is divorced, first had carnal knowledge of his daughter by threatening her with a cutlass.
According to him, investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
It was gathered that the suspect, who is a native of Nduhu Alaenyi, Ogwa, in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, had sex with his daughter on many occasions and got her pregnant in the process.
Afte getting his daughter pregnant, the suspect then took her to a medical doctor in the community, urging the doctor to buy the pregnancy and unborn baby for N200,000.
The doctor, who was said to have been shocked by the request, reported the matter to the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Agu of Alaenyi Ogwa Autonomous community. He also took the pregnant girl along to the community leader’s palace.

It was during interrogation at the traditional ruler’s palace that the girl confessed what transpired.
The man was then reported to the police.
