The senator representing Kogi West senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Dino Melaye, has been reportedly arrested by the police in Abuja.
According to reports, the All Progressives Congress (APC) senator was nabbed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, as he attempted to catch a plane to Morocco on Monday.
Although it was not immediately clear which government agency carried out the arrest, The Herald Nigeria recalled that the Nigerian Police Force recently declared him wanted for allegedly arming hoodlums in his home state.
Melaye said on Twitter, “I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Govt after checking in.”
He equally posted on Instagram a photo of himself preparing to travel.
