Police Arrest Alleged Cultists Who Disrupted Church Service With Claim That Pastor Was A Drunk, Smoker

The Edo State Police Command has arrested five persons in connection with the disruption of a church service in Igueben Local Government Area of the state.

According to PM News, the suspects alleged to be cult members stormed the Disciples for Christ for All Nation Church located at Ebelle while a service to herald crossover into the New Year was being held.

It was gathered that the suspects went into the church with cigarettes and bottles of beer, while one of them claimed that the pastor of the church drank alcohol and smoked with him.

The congregation pleaded with the men to leave, which they did, but not before beating up the pastor and other church members and destroying musical instruments belonging to the church.

The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Osifo confirmed the arrest of the five suspects on Tuesday.
