The Kaduna State Police Command, said on Friday that it had arrested eight suspected armed robbers terrorising communities in the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Zubairu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that seven of the suspects were arrested at their hide out in Maraban Rido area of Kaduna South Local Government.
According to him, a patrol team of Sabon Tasha Police Division apprehended the suspects on March 31, after a tip off.
Zubairu claimed that, in the course of interrogation, one of the suspects confessed to have stolen a vehicle parked on Yamadawa street in Kano.
“He also confessed that the gang had carried out series of armed robberies within Kaduna and environs.
“We recovered a locally made rifle from the suspects,“ the command’s spokesman said
He further disclosed that another suspect was arrested by the police in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna while attempting to dispose off a red Honda Civic car, with registration number HJA 837 AA.
According to him, the suspect, who hails from Kano State, will be charged to court after investigation.
The police image maker stressed that the command is committed to flushing out criminals in the state and solicited for more cooperation from the general public.(NAN)
