The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command has arrested 26 suspects and rescued two robbery victims in the Ojota area and its axis.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, the RRS said, “Around 11:38 p.m. on Thursday, operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) combing Olusosun, Ojota, uncompleted buildings in Otedola Bridge and Kurata, all notorious for being criminals den, arrested 26 suspects and rescued two robbery victims in MKO Garden, Ojota.”
According to the post, the arrest is sequel to the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade to Commander RRS, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi to step up surveillance and arrest criminals in some black spots within the metropolis.
“After a thorough screening of the suspects by CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, 16 persons were released to their relatives, while 10 suspects are to be charged to court for prosecution.
“The Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi had three weeks ago assured that the squad would up and sustain its surveillance of the metropolis while also taking the fight to the criminals in their hideouts,” the post read.
