The police arraigned three men, who allegedly broke into a hotel and abeat up guests, in Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The police charged Kamoru Yusuf,27, Adeleke Osifeso,31, and Abiodun Olusegun, 21, with six counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, break in, stealing, wilful damage and assault.
They, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 17, within Lagos magisterial district.
He alleged that the defendants broke into Happiness Home Garden and destroyed the ceiling board, windows, air conditioner and doors all valued at N120,000.
They also alleged that they assaulted and disposed guests of their ATM cards, phones and cash.
He also said that the defendants broke into Happy Day Hotel and destroyed the entrance door, worth N550,000.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 173, 287, 307, 360 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 30. (NAN)
