In what appears to be a well coordinated response to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to GEJ, the Special Adviser to the President on Political matters, Ahmed Gulak, has also sent his tersely worded reply to the ex-President.
Gulak speaking at the palace of Asagba of Asaba, Delta State described President Obasanjo and his ilk as “cabals, unpatriotic and undemocratic”.
Gulak said it was President Jonathan’s constitutional right to seek a second term in 2015 and that well meaning Nigerians should support the President.
Gulak said “President Jonathan foot soldiers are ready to support him, ready to take the bullet on his behalf and are ready to tell those who want to bring down his government that enough is enough, keep tribe aside in order to move Nigeria forward”.
‘’Some people resorted to letter writing. Even if the President has instructed us not to reply that he would reply himself. They are out of power and still want to dictate; they want to assume the power of God. Nobody can play God,” he added.
He added further, ‘’they were in power for four, five, eight and eleven years. They even tried to come back to power, remain in power. Why should President Jonathan be different? Northerners want him back likewise other Nigerians. We should rally round him to continue his good work,’’ Gulak said
The Asagba of Asaba said his people would support President Jonathan if their calls for creation of a new State, Anioma are heeded.
