A popular PDP member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Edward Pwajok, has defected to the All Progressives Congress.
Hon Pwajok, a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Plateau State in the Jona Jang-led PDP government in the State announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the presence of the State governor, Mr. Solomon Lalong who was in the House on a courtesy visit.
House Minority leader, Leo Okuweh Ogor (PDP, Delta) had immediately after the announcement raised a constitutional point of order, citing section 68 of the constitution which states clearly the circumstances under which a member of the House or a Senator can decamp from his or her political party.
However, Speaker Dogara ruled him out of order, stating that the factionalisation of the PDP is not a matter of law, but facts.
