President Muhammadu Buhari has described National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a “pillar of democracy” and “father of modern Lagos State”.
Buhari said this in a tweet from his official handle while congratulating Tinubu on his 67th birthday.
Tinubu, who was governor of Lagos State from 1999 – 2007, was born on March 29, 1952.
He was Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council that helped Buhari secure a second term in office in the 2019 general election.
“Happy Birthday to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Leader of our great party, the APC; pillar of democracy; and father of modern Lagos State. His best years are still ahead; I pray that the almighty God will grant him longer life, health and more wisdom to keep serving Nigeria,” the presidential tweet read.
