Monday witnessed a mild drama between students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, and some prospective Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME candidates who had their examinations venue scheduled on campus.
The students of the university on Monday shut down the school gate thereby denying the UTME candidates access into the campus for their examination.
The aggrieved students took to the school gate as early as 5:00 am under the leadership of the student leaders who demanded that the government must intervene in the current crisis which has crippled academic activities in the university.
The students who demanded that the issue on ground be resolved before more students are admitted further demanded a comprehensive academic calendar following complaints that the University has 3sets of 100 level students pending.
The students during the protest further demanded the school authority to schedule an appropriate time for lectures and other academic activities to commence in the institution or face student’s wrath.
