The evil that men do lives after them is a popular adage.
But for former Iraqi strongman, Saddam Hussein, so does his 270ft super yacht, “Basrah Breeze”.
Built for him in 1981, Saddam reportedly never set foot on the gold-encrusted superyacht with its own helicopter pad, rocket launchers and an escape passage to a secret mini-submarine.
The yacht, which its interior decor featured “Arabesque” style, comes equipped with a presidential suite comprising Saddam’s private quarters, dining rooms and bedrooms, as well as 17 smaller guest rooms, 18 cabins for crew and a clinic.
According to reports, it is now set to be enjoyed by pilots who guide shipping in and out of the port of Basra, the main southern city in Iraq.
Saddam was President of Iraq from July 1979 to April 2003.
He was executed on December 30, 2006, after an Iraqi court found him guilty of crimes against humanity.
