A Policewoman got a promotion after a photo in which she was breastfeeding an abandoned baby went viral online

The Argentine Policewoman, Celeste Ayala, was with a team that took six siblings into state custody in La Plata, Buenos Aires, after they were found in horrible conditions at home.

The youngest of the siblings was 7 months old and was crying desperately. Ayala who is mother to a 16 months old daughter whom she still breastfeeds then went ahead to seek permission from hospital staff to breastfeed the baby which was granted.

“I didn’t doubt it for a second,” she told the Argentine television show “Cronica.” “So I pulled out my breast and he became calm.”

One of Ayala’s teammates posted the tender photo on Facebook and since then there has been a deluge of positive messages for the Policewoman

The minister of security for the Province of Buenos Aires, Cristian Ritondo, met with Ayala to inform her that she had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
